Volvo XC40 Recharge Electric Vehicle Announced

Volvo XC40 Recharge Electric Vehicle Announced

Brought to you by Volvo Cars Mall of Georgia

Volvo has been very ambitious in trying to reduce its own CO2 footprint by 40 percent per car by the year 2025, and early this October they took a giant step towards that goal.  They introduced the production of their very first all-electric vehicle: The XC40 Recharge!  This incredible all-electric SUV was the first Volvo ever to be awarded the highly-regarded European Car of the Year and is based upon the Compact Modular Architecture, which is a vehicle platform that was co-developed within the Geely Group and is very highly advanced.  In just 40 minutes, this incredible all-electric SUV will charge up to 80% capacity and when fully charged has a projected range of 248 miles while putting out an almost unbelievable 402 horsepower for a vehicle of its kind.

What will be featured on the Volvo XC40

The XC40 will be equipped with a new Android-powered infotainment system that allows for a level of unrivaled personalization.  Embedded with services and technology by Google such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store, this system will not only receive bigger software and operating system updates over the air but will also have better powers of driver intuitiveness.  Not only is the infotainment system redesigned, but the level of safety standards have been upgraded as well.  Expert engineers at Volvo Cars have outfitted the XC40 with redesigned and reimagined reinforcement to the frontal structure of this vehicle to compensate for the lack of an engine, building off of their already high level of safety initiatives.  Protected by a safety cage placed mindfully in the center of the car's body structure, the battery pack sits in the floor of the SUV, lowering the vehicle's center of gravity to ensure better protection against rollovers.  When you get to the interior of this amazing vehicle, you'll find more than enough storage space in the special design that allows for storage in both the doors and the trunk.  Need more? Because of the lack of engine under the front hood of the XC40, there is even more storage at the front of the vehicle in a space deemed the 'frunk' which replaces the would-be-engine with an extra spot to store your belongings.  "Today is a momentous occasion for Volvo Cars and for all employees here in Ghent," said Javier Varela, head of global industrial operations and quality. "As we continue to electrify our line-up, the Ghent plant is a real trailblazer for our global manufacturing network."
